You should be "pre-approved" for financing as you commence your search. This not only helps you determine what you can reasonably afford, but also improves your status as a buyer. In a hot market, such as we are experiencing now, an offer placed by a pre-approved buyer is attractive to a seller as it minimizes the risk of the sale falling through because of lack of financing. It saves everyone time and money. We can refer you to a number of professional mortgage brokers should you need one.
